A&P General study guide
The twelve A&P General subject areas
The FAA builds every Aviation Mechanic General test from its mechanic test standard (FAA-S-ACS-1). It splits the test into twelve subject areas, each with knowledge elements (what you must know) and risk management elements (hazards you must be able to spot and manage). The bars show how much of the test each area can take up, from the FAA. Open an area to see everything the FAA lists for it, with sample questions.
